Caring for Your Faith-Based Products
At Catholic Clothing Collection, we want your products to maintain their quality and vibrancy for years to come. Our items are printed using state-of-the-art printing technologies including Direct-to-Garment (DTG), dye sublimation, and all-over print (AOP) methods. Proper care will ensure your products remain beautiful expressions of your faith.
General Care Instructions
First Wash
Important: Always wash your item before first use. This will:
- Remove any temporary production residue
- Eliminate any vinegar-like odor (natural byproduct of water-based, eco-friendly inks)
- Allow fabric to settle and colors to set properly
Any white residue or slight discoloration you may notice is not a stain—it’s residual material from the printing process that will wash away completely after the first wash.
Care Instructions by Product Type
Apparel (T-Shirts, Hoodies, Sweatshirts, Tank Tops)
Washing:
- Machine wash cold (30°C/86°F maximum)
- Turn garment inside out before washing
- Use mild, gentle detergent
- Wash with similar colors
- Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals
- Remove promptly from washer to prevent wrinkling
Drying:
- Air dry or tumble dry on low heat setting
- Remove immediately when dry
- Do not over-dry
- Avoid high heat settings
Ironing:
- Iron inside out only
- Use low to medium heat setting
- Do not iron directly on printed areas
- Place a cloth between iron and print if necessary
Do Not:
- Dry clean
- Use fabric softeners (can damage prints)
- Wring or twist garment
- Expose to direct sunlight for extended periods while wet
All-Over Print (AOP) Products (Leggings, Dresses, Swimwear)
Special AOP Care:
- AOP products are printed on synthetic materials (typically polyester blends)
- Prints cover seams and entire garment surface
- Extra gentle care is recommended
Washing:
- Machine wash cold on gentle cycle
- Turn inside out
- Use mild detergent
- Do not use bleach or whitening agents
- Wash separately or with similar colors for first few washes
Drying:
- Air dry is strongly recommended
- If machine drying, use lowest heat setting
- Remove immediately when dry
Do Not:
- Use high heat
- Iron printed areas
- Dry clean
Mugs, Drinkware & Ceramic Products
Washing:
- Hand wash recommended for longest life
- Use warm water and mild dish soap
- Avoid abrasive scrubbers
- If using dishwasher, place on top rack only
- Use gentle cycle with minimal detergent
Use:
- Suitable for hot and cold beverages
- Microwave safe (unless otherwise indicated)
- Avoid extreme temperature changes
Do Not:
- Scrub printed areas harshly
- Use in oven
- Use steel wool or abrasive cleaners
- Soak for extended periods
Canvas Prints & Wall Art
Maintenance:
- Dust gently with soft, dry cloth
- Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent fading
- Avoid humid environments
- Handle by frame edges, not canvas surface
Cleaning:
- Spot clean only with slightly damp cloth
- Never use chemical cleaners or solvents
- Allow to air dry completely
Phone Cases & Accessories
Cleaning:
- Wipe clean with soft, slightly damp cloth
- Use mild soap if needed
- Dry thoroughly before placing back on device
Do Not:
- Submerge in water
- Use harsh chemicals or alcohol-based cleaners
- Place in dishwasher or washing machine
Tote Bags & Canvas Accessories
Washing:
- Hand wash in cold water recommended
- Use mild detergent
- Gently scrub any stains
- Air dry only
Do Not:
- Machine wash (unless product description specifically states machine washable)
- Bleach
- Iron directly on printed areas
- Tumble dry
Home Decor (Pillows, Blankets, Towels)
Washing:
- Machine wash cold on gentle cycle
- Use mild detergent
- Wash with similar colors
- For pillows: spot clean cover only; do not wash insert
Drying:
- Air dry recommended
- Tumble dry on low heat if needed
- Shake out to restore fluff
Do Not:
- Use bleach
- Iron printed areas directly
- Dry clean
Understanding Print Technologies
Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printing
- Uses water-based, eco-friendly inks
- Colors are vibrant and detailed
- Prints may have a slight texture initially that softens with washing
- Temporary vinegar-like smell is normal and will dissipate
Dye Sublimation / All-Over Print
- Dye becomes part of the fabric
- Creates vivid, permanent colors
- Ideal for polyester and synthetic materials
- Colors are extremely durable when cared for properly
Screen Printing
- Ink sits on top of fabric
- Durable and long-lasting
- May feel slightly textured
- Becomes softer with each wash
Color Variations & Printing Characteristics
Please note:
- Screen colors may vary slightly from printed colors due to monitor settings
- Fabric texture can affect how colors appear
- Minor print placement variations of up to 0.5 inches are normal and not considered defects
- White lines near seams on AOP products may be visible and are characteristic of the printing technique
- Small color variations between orders are possible due to different production runs
Storage Recommendations
Apparel:
- Store in cool, dry place
- Fold gently or hang on proper hangers
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
- Keep away from moisture
Other Products:
- Store in original packaging if not in use
- Keep away from extreme temperatures
- Avoid stacking heavy items on printed products
